Steer employees and pedestrians away from potentially dangerous situations with our caution signs
Whether you work on a construction site, a mining site or even the back dock of a retail shopping centre, there are always going to be potentially hazardous situations in the workplace. Think exposed wires, falling objects, heavy machinery and in a mining situation, mud, rock or soil slides.
If your workplace is prone to hazards (not life-threatening), we recommend displaying caution signs on-site. “Caution: Danger Ahead” signs should be displayed anywhere that an employee, contractor or pedestrian could be at risk of an accident or injury.
At Safety Signs Australia, we print the most durable metal caution signs in Australia. Designed and printed here in the Hunter Valley of New South Wales, we add free laminate coatings to all of our signs — plus, we can print custom signs based on your design requirements and preferences.
Order caution signs online for fast and free shipping over $100, or contact us for custom printing today.
What are caution signs?
A caution sign indicates that there is a potentially hazardous situation ahead that must be avoided. According to Australian Standard 1319, failure to avoid the hazard could result in minor to moderate injuries but are not likely to be life-threatening. In Australia and around the world, caution signs are highly recognisable in bright yellow with black block letters and imagery.
Almost all caution signs have “CAUTION” in capital letters and/or the hazard illustrated inside of a triangle.
What are the laws around caution signs?
The Australian Standard 1319 (AS 1319) sets out the requirements for the design and use of safety signs in the workplace in order to:
- Regulate and control safety-related behaviour
- Warn of hazards
- Provide emergency information including fire protection information.
Compliance with this standard is generally voluntary unless it is mandatory to comply with standards in State and Commonwealth legislation. At Safety Signs Australia, you can rest assured knowing that we’ve covered all bases and our signs will always meet State and Commonwealth requirements. We’ll make sure you get your safety signage right the first time, every time.
